Police Gun Down Elderly Man Following 12-Hour Standoff

Description:Nearly 12 hours after it started, a standoff in Modesto is over; an elderly man is dead and a woman rescued. Tuesday evening, a man in his 80′s barricaded himself inside a home with an elderly woman. The couple, both in their 80′s, have some sort of relationship according to investigators. Officers and SWAT members tried to talk to the man, who was believed to be armed, all night. (1:15)
