Description:The number of lawsuits against the NYPD is booming. A new report shows the number of suits filed against the department jumped 10-percent in the 2011 fiscal year. There were more than 8,800 lawsuits filed, most of them involving alleged misconduct. The report says claims against the NYPD will cost the city more than $185 million! (0:23)
