India Doctors' Strike Into Fifth Day

Description:India's sick and dying lie unattended in hospital beds, with no one to care for them but their families. A doctors' strike in northwestern India is into its fifth day - hitting public hospitals hard. Around 9000 doctors in state-run hospitals in Rajasthan are pushing for equal pay and promotions to their federal counterparts. 5000 doctors have resigned, so the government is bringing in railway and army medics to cope with the shortage.
