Home Invasion And Attempted Sexual Assault Shakes Lakeview Residents

Description:Lakeview residents are questioning their safety after a man attempted to sexually assault a young woman as she slept in her home early Thursday. At around 5 a.m., an unidentified attacker broke into an apartment in 800 block of West Newport and tried to sexually assault a 25 year old woman, Chicago police said in a community alert. As the woman fought off her attacker, the noise woke up her 24 year old roommate. This scared the man off and he fled the scene. (2:14)
