Description:Mexico's Trail of Light was meant to be the crowning glory of the nation's 200th anniversary of independence from Spanish rule. That was nearly a year and a half ago. It's finally been switched on late and massively over-budget but nonetheless defended by President Felipe Calderon. The inauguration ceremony in Mexico City attracted some protests. Many Mexicans see the Trail of Light more as a monument to the nation's public bureaucracy, corruption and inefficiency.(2:03)
