Deputy Fire Chief Resigns Following Attempted Murder Charges

Description:A suburban deputy fire chief charged with a host of crimes including attempted murder, sexual assault and burglary resigned Monday. The Chicago Ridge Department accepted the retirement of Gary Swiercz, 49, effective immediately, according to a statement. Swiercz was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
