Costly Storm: Bloomberg Asks For $10-Billion In Sandy Relief

Description:The city is seeking $9.8 billion from the feds to rebuild and recover from Hurricane Sandy, which cost the city $19 billion, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced today. "I am hopeful that together with our partners in the federal government, we will be able to secure the necessary resources for a successful recovery.
