Chemical Bombs Discovered In SoCal Mailboxes

Description:Police are warning residents about a series incidents where dangerous chemical bombs, made from household items, were left in mailboxes and front yards around town. These bombs often contain a chemical cleaner and are placed inside of a plastic beverage container with tin foil, which contributes to the chemical reaction. These bombs generally take a short time to go off, but in some cases they fail to explode until the bomb is picked up, causing it to explode in the unsuspecting person's hands. (0:42)
