In 1964, at the age of 20, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo left London for India to pursue a path to Buddhism. After being one of the first Westerners ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun, Palmo lived in a monastery as the lone nun among 100 monks. (2:32)
