A Doe and Her Fawn Are Rescued from a Frozen Lake

Description:The dramatic rescue of a deer and her fawn stranded on thin ice in Nova Scotia is captured on video acquired by Reuters. The video was shot by Ian Waugh, a retired Canadian biologist, after spotting the doe and fawn struggling on ice in Antigonish Harbour. The doe struggled for hours to gain her footing on the ice while her fawn stayed close to her. The ice was too thin to attempt a rescue by foot, so Waugh notified the Department of Natural Resources.
