Description:Rumbles from a moderate earthquake centered in southern Maine were felt in parts of Connecticut on Tuesday evening.
The 4.0 magnitude earthquake, which happened at 7:16 p.m., was centered in southern Maine near Hollis Center, about 20 miles west of Portland, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake's center was about 161 miles north of Hartford. It originally was estimated as a 4.6, but was downgraded.(1:18)
