Your dream of shopping Victoria Beckham's closet is coming true
If you've been closely following Victoria Beckham's career over the last two decades, then you already know that she has undergone one hell of a style transformation. From her days in body-con minidresses as Posh Spice to the sophisticated, minimalist womenswear she designs for her eponymous collection, you can only imagine the contradictions that live tucked away in the back of her closet.
Soon, thanks to The Outnet, you might be able to own a little piece of Beckham's fashion history. The online retailer has partnered with the designer and will sell off more than 600 pieces from her closet to benefit mothers2mothers, a charity organization that cares for HIV positive mothers and teaches them ways to prevent the spread of the virus to their babies. The sale runs for a limited time, from Aug. 20 - Aug. 25.
In order to raise awareness and funds for the cause, Beckham chose fan-favorite items from her wardrobe - yes, they include pieces from her Spice Girls days - which were priced with the help of Christie's. According to a release from The Outnet, the goods include evening dresses, coats, costume pieces, ready-to-wear by top designers and more, and in order to be able to shop, you must register on the site between now and Aug. 20.
Since many of the pieces are of special significance - whether personally, because Beckham wore them on dates with her husband, or publicly, because she wore them to an awards show - the 10 most iconic looks from Beckham's closet will be sold through a reverse auction, including the white Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards and the yellow Roberto Cavalli gown she donned at the pre-World Cup party in 2006 (see left).
So, if you've ever wanted to get your hands on a piece of clothing that has probably touched David Beckham or are nostalgic for Posh Spice's little Gucci dresses of yore, head on over toThe Outnet. It's for a good cause.
