Money Minute: 'Got Milk?' Ad Finally Expires; Apple's Scary Security Flaw

A 20-year old ad campaign gets a makeover.

The milk industry has been using the advertising tag line "Got Milk" since 1994. Well, that campaign has passed its expiration date. The industry is launching a new one with new tag line: "Milk Life." And instead of featuring big names such as Bill Clinton, Whoopie Goldberg and David Beckham, the new campaign stars ordinary people. Milk consumption in the U.S. has declined in each of the last two years.

Apple (AAPL) computers have long been known for being less vulnerable to hackers, but a flaw in the company's iOS software could leave a significant opening for hackers. Apple has sent out a software update and is urging users of iPhones, iPods and iPads to install the update immediately. %VIRTUAL-article-sponsoredlinks%Reports say hackers might be able to monitor your emails and even change some of the work you do using public Wi-Fi spots.

WhatsApp, the company bought by Facebook (FB) last week for $19 billion, is coming out with a new product. WhatsApp will start offering free voice services within a few months, competing with Microsoft's (MSFT) Skype and other providers. The company's messaging service has 465 million users worldwide.

Here on Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average (^DJI) rose 103 points Monday, the Nasdaq composite (^IXIC) gained 29, and the Standard & Poor's 500 index (^GPSC) added 11 points. The S&P spent most of the session in record territory before falling back in the final few minutes of trading.

Technical analysts say it's important for the S&P to break that record this week or it risks another retreat.

A big blow to the faith in the value of bitcoin. Mt. Gox, one of the biggest bitcoin exchanges, appears to have stopped operations. This follows a series of technical problems in recent weeks as well as a major theft. It's not certain what will happen to people holding bitcoin at Mt. Gox, but they could lose their entire investment. The value of bitcoin slumped below the $500 mark this morning.
