Fire destroys an RV and more in North Highlands, but several homes are saved
A fire broke out Friday night in an RV in North Highlands, spreading to power lines and an outbuilding and threatening some homes before it was controlled.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighters responded about 9:30 p.m. to Roseville Road and Tacomic Drive on reports of a fire. They found flames that broke out in the RV had engulfed a nearby outbuilding and spread to adjacent power lines.
The fire initially threatened “several” homes, Metro Fire said in a social media post, but crews were able to control it before it spread. The agency was aided by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, which arrived soon after the blaze began to de-energize relevant lines.
No injuries were reported. The fire’s start has been deemed unintentional, Metro Fire said.
