Taco Bell Debuts Its Dollar Cravings Menu

The Dollar Cravings Menu contains items like the Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadilla, Spicy Tostada, Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito, Fritos Burrito, Triple Layer Nachos and much more.

In 2013, McDonald's re-launched its Dollar Menu as the Dollar Menu & More, which offered customers more items to choose from. The original Dollar Menu was launched over 10 years ago.

Taco Bell is not the first fast food to chain to use very low prices as a selling point. McDonald's introduced a $2 jalapeno burger last year and Burger King has been promoting an offering of two sandwiches for $5.

However, TIME notes that charging $1 for Taco Bell menu items might actually be an increase in price for some.

According to Bloomberg, many restaurant chains are under pressure to cut costs because of the rising prices of beef and pork which may be one of the reasons behind the popularity of these low-cost menus.

For the first time ever, Taco Bell is releasing a Dollar Cravings Menu nationwide. Starting August 18th, the Mexican chain will offer an array of items for just $1. Between cheesy bean-and-rice burritos, shredded chicken mini quesadillas and Cinnabon Delights, the menu offers 11 Taco Bell items, including some choices customers haven't seen yet.
