McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts Offering Free Coffee on Mondays

Monday is arguably the worst day of the week. Since most people dread Mondays, Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's have decided to give everyone a little something to look forward to.

McDonald's plans to serve free coffee on Mondays in select locations throughout 2015. Customers can order one small hot or iced coffee even in drive-thru locations. Not all McDonald's will be giving away free coffees though. "The markets determine what is best for their customers and customize their offers accordingly," a McDonald's spokesperson explained to TIME. According to TIME, this will include McDonald's restaurants in the greater Washington, D.C. area, including locations in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.

According to The Washington Post, McDonald's makes a quarter of its sales during the breakfast window (beginning at 10:30 am). So it comes as no surprise that the fast food chain is trying to attract customers first thing in the morning. If you are a huge fan of McDonald's coffee you will soon be able to buy their coffee beans in grocery stores. This isn't the first time McDonald's has given out free coffee. McDonald's gave out free small McCafes in September of 2014 for two weeks.

You can also enjoy a free Dunkin' Donuts coffee to improve your Monday morning as well, mostly in locations in the Midwest. Dunkin' Donuts plans to give away free coffee on Mondays until January 19th in the following locations:

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Des Moines, Iowa
Topeka, Kansas
Wichita, Kansas
Rochester, Minnesota
Kansas City, Missouri
Lincoln, Nebraska
Omaha, Nebraska
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Madison, Wisconsin
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
