How to Make Halloween Deviled Eggs

It's so fun to make Halloween goodies. Black Widow Spider Cupcakes, Skeleton Cookies, Graveyard Cupcakes—the list goes on and on! While sweet treats are in abundance around this holiday, it can sometimes be a little harder to make savory treats for Halloween. Ghostly Pretzel Sticks are a classic, and Mummy Hot Dogs are fun too, but you may be surprised to find that one super fun food to work with on Halloween is ... eggs! If you're not feeling up to making Halloween Eyeballs, try these Halloween Deviled Eggs shown in the video above for a festive appetizer!

Mix half a cup of water with a few tablespoons of rice vinegar. Add black food coloring. Cut the hard boiled eggs in half and remove the yolks from the whites. Push them off to the side for now. Then, drop the egg whites into the black liquid. Let them sit for about five minutes. (Careful, the dye can stain your hands!) Once dyed, drop the egg whites on to a paper towel with a pair of tongs to drain excess liquid, and then place them in the fridge for about two hours so that the dye dries.

To make the filling, take three tablespoons of mayonnaise and add orange food coloring. Mix well. Mash the egg yolks into the orange mayo mix. (You can add a little bit of mustard for flavor here too.) Add the orange mix back into your blackened eggs, and voila, you have festive deviled eggs!
