Game of Thrones Wine Is Coming

It's always sad to bid farewell to a bloody, exciting, legendary season of Game of Thrones. While you're still having nightmares about White Walkers and declaring that "winter is coming," next season will have the added bonus of perfectly themed wine. That's right, Game of Thrones wine is coming. Before season 5 of the epic show begins, an Australian company called Common Ventures will debut its Wines of Westeros. Named for the fictional continent on the show, the 12 wines also correlate with different houses and tribes. Indeed, your Game of Thrones viewing parties just got that much more exciting or as the wine's website so eloquently puts it, "A mind needs wine as a sword needs a whetstone."

According to Jane Burlop, the creator of the ad agency Common Ventures, the red wines represent houses that are "headstrong and robust," while the white wines are tied to houses that are known for being "cunning, perceptive and mysterious." The collection of 12 includes Pinot Noirs, Merlots, Savignon Blancs, Charonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignons. Fans may choose wins from the following houses and tribes: Stark, Lannister,Targaryern, Greyjoy, Arryn, Baratheon, Dothraki, Tyrell, White Walker, Wilding, Martell or Night's Watch. The bottles of wine will be sold for $19 and will even ship internationally.

There is already a Game of Thrones beer, but next season viewers will be able to pick their poison. Super Game of Thrones fans should pair the Wines of Westeros with recipes from the Game of Thrones cookbook, A Feast of Ice and Fire.
