4. Lavender Earl Grey Teacake

Sophie tells us, "I created this flavor for Katherine’s bridal shower. Katherine’s favorite tea is Lavender Earl Grey, so I wanted to create a new, personal flavor, just for her. It was so good, that we immediately added it to our spring menu and our customers absolutely love it!"

5. Banana Split

Katherine came up with this flavor on an episode of DC Cupcakes. "Sophie and I each came up with our own flavor, and my Banana Split got all of the votes and Sophie got zero! It feels good to beat your older sister, especially when she usually gets her way," she jokes.

6. Hibiscus Mango

This flavor was created on an episode of DC Cupcakes. Sophie explains, "We wanted to create a hibiscus flavor and were trying to decide what to pair it with so we experimented with mango, peach and rum. Let’s just say that Katherine got a little carried away with the rum!"

7. Strawberry Champagne

"We created this flavor for Oprah! We got invited to bake with her on her show during her last season, so we wanted to create something really spectacular and memorable," the pair shares. "Now, we serve our Strawberry Champagne cupcakes for New Year’s Eve every year at Georgetown Cupcake – it’s something very special for our customers."

8. Red Velvet

According to the sisters, this cupcake is their "most popular flavor at Georgetown Cupcake." The secret ingredient? "A special apple cider vinegar," they divulge.

Winning the title of “Best Cupcake” by the food editors at The Washington Post, this cupcake never fails to impress. "It is one of our classics – a chocolate cupcake dipped in chocolate ganache," the sisters tell us.

10. Coffee Cookies & Crème

"I love our Cookies & Crème cupcake, and I love having it as an afternoon snack with a cup of coffee, so I thought, why don’t we combine my two favorite things in one flavor? It has been hugely popular!" Katherine admits.

14. Lava Fudge

15. Caramel Apple

"We wanted to create a flavor that captured the essence of September and got into a lot of fights in the kitchen with each other on the development of this flavor, but we finally agreed on the end result – and it is delicious!" the sisters explain.
