After inventing the whimsically named Magic Souffle, Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot, Ice Cream Sundae in a Can, Waffagato and Pretzel Lobster Tails, Dominique Ansel is still most widely recognized for the Cronut. His croissant-doughnut mash-up became the dessert du jour at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho, New York and has garnered lines over several hours long that eager fans would wait in the wee hours of the morning to try their luck at buying the coveted dessert.
