Arigato Sushi, Santa Barbara

Cat eats at Arigato Sushi once a week if she is in town. "Georges Blanc-did one of my apprenticeships there and it helped shape who I am today as a person and a chef. One of the greatest feats I have ever accomplished in my career was getting through this apprenticeship as only one of two women in the kitchen," Cat says proudly.

As a chef, Cat Cora knows good food. When she is planning her own new restaurant endeavors, she does so with detail in mind. "Whether it's a restaurant concept or a food line, it takes no less than two years to get it right. [It's about being the] tortoise not the hare; slow, steady, smart and strategic," Cat explains. When she chooses to eat out, it's definitely going to be somewhere delicious, where the details always count.
