3 Father's Day Cocktails

Dads: You've made it through dirty diapers, high-pitched whining, astronomical school tuitions, and emotional walks down the wedding aisle. So take a load off.

Here to help is bartender St. John Frizell, owner of Brooklyn restaurant Fort Defiance and Daddy to a one year-old.

"Father's Day is a time to sit in a wing chair and think about your life as a father. And accept gifts from your children," he says, adding that "on the rocks" is the way to go for the occasion. "This is Dad's time to relax, not throw back a Martini."

He suggests spirituous drinks whose qualities change slightly as ice fades into the booze (and, we might add, cocktails that pair well with barbecue). Check out the slideshow above for three of Frizell's favorite drinks for dads.
