Housing Secretary Ben Carson fires back at Rep. Ilhan Omar over her sleep tweet

Updated

Ben Carson had a very strange day on Capitol Hill to say the least.

The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development went back and forth with one member over Oreos and real estate.

But an exchange between Carson and Representative Ayanna Pressley sparked a Twitter feud between Carson and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Omar tweeted, “Not sure he was fully awake, maybe he meant to reclaim his time back to sleep.”

Carson, who was a neurosurgeon fired back with this tweet, “Since you brought it up...I know what it’s like to actually be sleepy, especially after 18-hour surgeries and operating on babies in the womb. I hope Ilhan Omar knows I care about all people, even though she doesn’t recognize as having a right to life.”

Now, this isn’t the first time Carson has been attacked over being a bit “sleepy.”

His current boss, President Trump, went after him during the 2016 campaign for having what he called, “super low energy” and not enough energy to be president.
