North Carolina GOP candidate: 'God is a racist white supremacist'

Updated

"God is a racist white supremacist," according to a Republican Congressional candidate in North Carolina.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the state's Republican Party has withdrawn their support for candidate Russell Walker after his controversial website was uncovered.

The title of the site is "Christ Descended From Joseph," and it has multiple essays and articles written by Walker. The contentious part in question reads, "What is wrong with being a white supremacist? God is a racist and a white supremacist."

Another section discusses Jewish people, saying they're not Semitic, "They are Satanic as they all descend from Satan."

The Observer reports that Walker won his primary with 65 percent of the vote and will face off against incumbent Democrat Garland Pierce in November.

The North Carolina GOP House Caucus said they won’t support the campaign with the chairman of the caucus telling the Observer, "While Mr. Walker won the Republican primary, his rhetoric and actions have no place in the Republican Party, and he should strongly consider withdrawing his candidacy."
