Trump: Republicans should ‘stop wasting’ time on immigration, wait until ‘red wave’ to pass legislation

President Trump on Friday again slammed Democrats over the immigration issue.

“Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November,” Trump tweeted. “Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solves this decades-old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave!”

“Elect more Republicans in November and we will pass the finest, fairest and most comprehensive Immigration Bills anywhere in the world. Right now we have the dumbest and the worst. Dems are doing nothing but Obstructing. Remember their motto, RESIST! Ours is PRODUCE!” Trump wrote in another tweet.

His tweets come amid reports of legislative delay on immigration.

“House leaders abruptly postponed a vote Thursday on a broad immigration bill intended to unite GOP moderates and conservatives, acknowledging they lack the votes to pass the measure despite a growing uproar over separating migrant families at the border,” the Washington Post reported.

At a recent Cabinet meeting, Trump said immigration loopholes are supported by “extremist, open-border Democrats.”

“All of a sudden, they’re big open-border people,” the president added. “It’s a whole big con job. In the meantime, people are suffering because of the Democrats.”
