Trump touts his 51 percent approval from Rasmussen, slams CNN and ABC polls
President Trump touted his 51 percent approval rating from a recent Rasmussen Reports survey, while criticizing other pollsters and the media at large.
“Rasmussen just came out at 51% Approval despite the Fake News Media,” Trump wrote in a Tuesday tweet.

The Washington Examiner notes that “Trump was referencing a Rasmussen Reports daily presidential tracking poll from Monday which showed that 51 percent of ‘likely U.S. voters approve of President Trump’s job performance.’”
Meanwhile, the daily poll numbers posted on Tuesday put Trump’s approval at 49 percent. That number is still high compared to the survey results reported by most other entities.
According to the Washington Post, conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports generally posts more favorable numbers for Trump. The Post suggests that could be due, in part, to its polling methods, which are unique in that they limit their participants to likely voters.
“Often, likely voter pools lean more heavily Republican because, well, Republicans are often more likely to vote,” the publication notes.
