New poll: Trump’s approval rating at highest level since 100-day mark

According to a new CNN poll, President Trump has recently experienced an uptick in his approval rating, climbing to a level not seen since the 100-day mark in his presidency.

“42 percent approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency, 54 percent disapprove. Approval is up 7 points overall since February,” CNN noted.

The poll was conducted for the network by research firm SSRS. It took place from March 22 to March 25 and involved 1,014 phone participants.

The U.S. economy was among the strongest areas with 48 percent expressing approval versus 45 percent disapproval for the job Trump is doing on that issue.

It remains to be seen what impact adult film star Stormy Daniels’ interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” will have on these numbers in the days ahead.

Daniels talked about her alleged affair with Trump in the interview that aired Sunday night.

On Monday, while Trump did post multiple tweets, he didn’t directly address the CBS interview.

“So much Fake News. Never been more voluminous or more inaccurate,” the president wrote. “But through it all, our country is doing great!”

In another tweet, Trump said, “The economy is looking really good. It has been many years that we have seen these kind of numbers. The underlying strength of companies has perhaps never been better.”
