Trump slams China for allegedly selling oil to North Korea

“Caught RED HANDED – very disappointed that China is allowing oil to go into North Korea,” Trump tweeted on Thursday.“There will never be a friendly solution to the North Korea problem if this continues to happen!”

That activity was reported by a South Korean newspaper, which cited its sources as being from the South Korean government.

Those individuals claimed the November vessel-to-vessel oil transfer was spotted in satellite images provided by U.S. reconnaissance satellites.

Fox News soon after picked up the story, airing its report on Wednesday evening.

China has denied that any such activity took place, notes Reuters.

When asked about the matter, Ren Guoqiang, a spokesperson for the Chinese Defence Ministry, said, “The situation you have mentioned absolutely does not exist,” and made no further comments.

The New York Times reports that the sanctions in question were adopted by the United Nations Security Council and place strict limits on the number of fuel nations can supply to North Korea.
