Trump says he ‘feels very badly’ for Flynn, ‘his life is destroyed’

President Trump on Monday shared his thoughts on former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s guilty plea.

“I feel badly for General Flynn. I feel very badly,” Trump told reporters on Monday. “He’s led a very strong life.”

Trump then went on to lash out at Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton lied many times to the FBI; nothing happened to her,” the president added. “Flynn lied. They destroyed his life. I think it’s a shame.”

Trump’s Monday comments follow his many tweets on the topic.

“So General Flynn lies to the FBI and his life is destroyed, while Crooked Hillary Clinton, on that now famous FBI holiday ‘interrogation’ with no swearing in and no recording, lies many times…and nothing happens to her? Rigged system, or just a double standard?” Trump tweeted over the weekend.

“Many people in our Country are asking what the ‘Justice’ Department is going to do about the fact that totally Crooked Hillary, AFTER receiving a subpoena from the United States Congress, deleted and ‘acid washed’ 33,000 Emails? No justice!” the president wrote in another tweet on Saturday.
