Sen. Bernie Sanders is planning to launch his proposal for the single-payer health insurance system, according to Politico.

This platform was the backbone of his 2016 presidential message.

Democrats who don't get behind it could find themselves ostracized from the party as well as its possible future presidential candidate.

The Vermont Independent has signaled that he expects serious resistance even from Democrats.

"We will be taking on the most powerful special interests in the country: Wall Street, the insurance companies, the drug companies, the corporate media, the Republican Party and the establishment wing of the Democratic Party," he said in an email to supporters last Tuesday.

Sanders has yet to release an outlined of the plan.

Many say Sanders has influence and a large and politically active following, which is why many aren't offering an alternative to his health care for all plan.
