Scaramucci on White House leakers: 'I'm going to fire everybody'

White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci spoke out on how he plans on handling administration staff leaking information to the press, saying he's going to "fire everybody."

Reporters asked Scaramucci on Tuesday how he was going to handle White House leaks on Tuesday, to which the former Wall Street financier responded, saying, "I'm gonna fire everybody, that's how I'm gonna do it."

The statement from Scaramucci comes as POLITICO reported the new Trump administration official's plans to fire assistant press secretary Michael Short.

Short has since confirmed his resignation, telling reporters it was "a privilege" to serve President Trump.

Scaramucci also added in addressing reporters on Tuesday that he had "1,000 percent" authority from Trump to move forward with such firings.

"I'm committed to taking the comms shop down to Sarah [Huckabee Sanders] and me, if I can't get the leaks to stop," Scaramucci told POLITICO.
