Raw, unedited footage shows Good Samaritans rescue infant and toddler from overturned truck

A Texas man captured footage of a group of Good Samaritans rescuing an infant and toddler from a truck that overturned after an afternoon of tornadoes Saturday.

Phillip Ochletree, father of the two children, said he had been on the road despite inclement weather conditions to flee from tornadoes headed for his home and family over the weekend.

But Ochletree hydroplaned while attempting to navigate through flooded streets, flipping his ride upside down in rushing water.

As the vehicle began to fill with water, a local resident driving through the area, Tom Mitchell, spotted the wreck with several people stuck inside.

Mitchell told WFAA that he didn't have enough strength to rescue the family, so he began to film the group of others who arrived at the scene to rescue the family.

In the clip above, people can be seen struggling to pry open the doors of the truck to free the family.

They were able to free one of the children, who Mitchell described in the video as "white, going blue-ish grey."

The video went dark after Mitchell placed the phone in his pocket to join the others in efforts to revive the baby.

A woman's voice can be heard over the video, repeatedly saying in prayer, "Dear Jesus, please let this baby breathe."

Mitchell said he felt a response in the baby once the woman began to pray.

"Well the first prayer she said, I felt a response in that child," Mitchell said.

After the baby began to breathe the rescuers shifted their attention to retrieving the toddler.

They were able to resuscitate both children.

After the horrific moment, Ochletree posted an image of the toddler to social media, notifying the public of the baby's improved state and the toddler's hospitalized, but stable, condition.
