Trump considers breaking up Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals

Updated

President Trump isn't shy about his frustrations with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which has previously blocked two of his executive orders.

The president told the Washington Examiner that he "absoutely" considered proposals that would break up the court.

"There are many people that want to break up the Ninth Circuit. It's outrageous," he said.

A Ninth Circuit judge stopped the president from stripping money from sanctuary cities on Tuesday. Earlier this year, the same court blocked his travel ban.

Trump called both rulings ridiculous and said: "See you in the Supreme Court."

The Ninth Circuit covers nine states with 18 of 25 judges having been appointed by Democratic presidents.
