Ben Carson got stuck in an elevator during a housing tour
Ben Carson's housing tour in Miami on Wednesday hit an unusual snag.
The U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development got stuck in an elevator during a visit to an affordable housing complex.
To make matters worse, former Miami Heat player Alonzo Mourning was waiting for him outside, according to the New York Daily News.
The trip was stalled 20 minutes as firefighters set him free, a Miami Herald reporter on the scene said. No one was injured.

Once freed, Carson went about like nothing happened -- and he tweeted a photo of himself with Mourning and did not mention the incident.

He also shared a photo of himself playing pool with residents.

Carson is in Miami as part of a "listening tour," where he is meeting with developers and local governments that will be affected by housing cuts mandated by President Trump's proposed federal budget cuts.
According to New York Daily News, the budget calls for HUD to lose more than $6 billion in funding, and an end to community development grants to areas like the ones Carson is touring.
