Kellyanne Conway's old tweet about FBI investigation gets new life

Updated

On Monday, FBI Director James Comey confirmed the bureau is investigating Russian election interference and potential ties between Trump campaign associates and Moscow, reports the New York Times.

In the wake of that announcement, an old tweet by White House counselor Kellyanne Conway resurfaced.

It was posted in October around the time Comey announced a renewed interest in Hillary Clinton's emails.

The tweet read, "Most honest people I know are not under FBI investigation, let alone two."

Included was a link to a Fox News quote of her statement, "If you're under your 2nd FBI investigation in the same year then you do have a...corruption & an ethics problem."

Though months old, the Twitter post is once again making the rounds.

Those retweeting it include Siraj Hashmi, a Red Alert assistant editor, who commented, "Enter this into: 'Tweets that haven't aged well.'"

Another person wrote, "Hello ironic old Tweet, how are ya?"

Gossip columnist Perez Hilton also joined the conversation, noting, "A lot can change in 5 months, isn't that right [Kellyanne Conway]."
