Rush Limbaugh: Obama had it easier than Trump because he was black

Updated

Conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh argued Sunday that former president Barack Obama had it easier than Trump in his first year of office because he was black.

"You have the first African-American president. You have everybody falling all over themselves to acknowledge that, to reward that," Limbaugh told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

Limbaugh says he advised Trump to begin repealing Obama's Affordable Care Act and securing U.S. borders. But Limbaugh claimed that it would have been more difficult for Trump to tackle his first year agenda in comparison to Obama because he did not have the privilege of being an African-American.

"Obama was going to get everything he wanted in the first year because if anybody opposed it, they were going to be accused of being a racist, or a bigot, or who knows what," Limbaugh said.

Limbaugh also insisted that it was "preposterous to believe that the Russians had any effect on the outcome of voting in this country" and blamed Democrats for "driving this business that the Russians hacked the election" because "they just can't accept that they lost."

"It's absurd," he asserted. "There is no evidence. Zilch. Zero. Nada."

According to Limbaugh, Trump supporters also "really, really believe that they were going to lose the country if Hillary Clinton won."
