Bourdain advises Trump to read daily intel brief after Sweden comment

President Trump has gotten a great deal of blowback over his Saturday rally comment regarding Sweden, notes NPR.

He said, "We've got to keep our country safe...you look at what's happening last night in Sweden — Sweden, who would believe this?"

Notably, the nation was mentioned among numerous countries that have suffered terrorist attacks.

On Monday morning, Anthony Bourdain weighed in on the matter, tweeting, "You might consider actually reading your daily intel brief . Or I dunno, ask around the office."

In doing so, Bourdain retweeted Trump's Sunday Twitter comment, "My statement as to what's happening in Sweden was in reference to a story that was broadcast on @FoxNews concerning immigrants & Sweden."

The attack in question, of course, never happened, but there was a segment on Fox News concerning the Nordic nation and its policy of welcoming those fleeing from harm, notes CNN.

On Friday, Tucker Carlson of Fox News interviewed a filmmaker who claims Sweden has, as a result, experienced a spike in violent crime.

Many were quick to counter Trump's comment on the Scandinavian nation.

Aftonbladet, a Stockholm newspaper, gave a rundown of noteworthy weekend events in Sweden, which included the near cancellation of a concert due to technical problems and a storm that resulted in a road shut down.
