Kellyanne Conway accuses Meryl Streep of 'inciting people's worst instincts' after Golden Globes speech

Senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway appeared Monday morning on Fox & Friends and addressed Meryl Streep's scathing remarks during her Golden Globes speech.

During Sunday night's Golden Globes, three-time Academy Award winning actress Streep used her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille award as a platform to call out President-elect Donald Trump's alleged mockery of a disabled reporter and contentious presidential campaign.

In an in-person interview with the Fox & Friend hosts, the president-elect's former campaign manager said Streep "sounds like 2014," and reminded the actress that "the election is over" and "she lost."

In response to Streep's criticism of Trump's presumed mockery of a disabled reporter during a 2015 campaign speech, Conway chastised the actress for not also commenting on the recent charge of four Chicago teens after they allegedly tortured a handicapped individual and broadcast the occurrence on Facebook Live.

"I'm glad that Meryl Streep has such a passion for the disabled because I didn't hear her weigh in and I didn't hear her even use her platform last night, Ainsley, to give a shoutout to the mentally challenged boy who last week was tortured live on Facebook for half an hour, by four young African-American adults who were screaming racial and anti-Trump expletives and forcing him to put his head in toilet water," Conway told FOX's Ainsley Earhardt. "So I'd like to hear from her today, if she wants to come to come and continue platform on behalf of the disabled."

During her 6-minute speech, Streep also called for the support of journalists and responded to Trump's often criticized bully persona, saying, "When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose."

"...this is Hollywood," Conway remarked. "I think where there is self-pity, a lot more self-awareness would do them some charm."

The president-elect responded to Streep's remarks himself on Monday, calling Streep "one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood" and a "Hillary flunky who lost big."
