Student hands out fake deportation letters at high school

A Redding, California student reportedly handed out fake deportation letters to others at his high school.

The incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday, a day after the presidential election, at Shasta High School, reports KRCR.

The five or six targeted students are said to be of various ethnicities, with at least some of Hispanic descent.

A report by local media outlet Action News Now states that "Administrators say the student posted a video that shows himself handing out a document with the word 'deportation' across the top."

The video has since been deleted, but Redding Record Searchlight, which has seen still images from it, says that the paper resembles a real court order.

The news site also reveals that captions on the video include the phrases "got him" and "another french one."

School officials say they found out about the boy's actions on Thursday, and when he was contacted, he reportedly responded that "it was done to be funny."

Administrators have said that such behavior will not be tolerated, but the punishment in this case is unknown.
