Get ready for the largest supermoon in 68 years

Updated

The largest supermoon since 1948 will be visible on November 14th. A supermoon occurs when the moon is both a full moon and at its closest orbit to the Earth. Supermoons can be about 30 percent brighter and appear 14 percent larger than a regular full moon. At its closest point on Monday, this particular supermoon will be about 214,486 miles away from Earth. There is another supermoon coming in December but the moon won't be as close to Earth again for the next 18 years.
