Video catches small plane crash landing on driving training course

A small plane crash was caught on video in Geneva, Florida on Wednesday morning.

A Seminole County Sheriff's Office post notes, "Deputies participating in driving training at the Seminole State College Driving Track in Geneva yesterday got more than they bargained for when a single engine airplane crash-landed on the course."

The driving instructors noticed the plane flying at a low altitude.

The department's post further notes, "Our Alert 1 helicopter, which was in the air assisting with the training, attempted to make contact with pilot without success. Instructors then heard the plane's engine begin to sputter and saw the plane begin to rapidly descend. They quickly ordered everyone off the driving track to clear it for a possible emergency landing. The pilot attempted the landing near the far end of the track but was unable to bring the plane to a complete stop before crashing into a chain-link fence just yards away from multiple parked cars and the training facility building. Although the plane sustained significant damage, no one was injured including the pilot who walked away without a scratch!"

The incident is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
