University executive under fire for spending taxpayer money on Bigfoot hunt

An executive director at the University of New Mexico-Gallup is facing backlash for spending taxpayer money on Bigfoot research.

In February, Dr. Christopher Dyer organized a two-day Bigfoot conference on campus, as well as a Bigfoot expedition which cost more than $7,000, according to KRQE-TV.

As a Bigfoot enthusiast, Dyer said of the event, "It was the largest and most well-attended event in the history of this campus."

However, with their after-conference-expedition yielding no results he also admitted, "...would we spend money on that again? Absolutely not."

Robert Frank, the President of UNM, was unaware of the university's Bigfoot spending. He said, "The type of expedition that just took place was not appropriate and will not occur in that manner again."
