Retired teacher wins $1M lottery off $1 ticket on her birthday

Sue Swanson, a retired teacher from Illinois, said her birthday horoscope predicted good things were about to happen.

They certainly did, and to the tune of over a million dollars.

Swanson won $1,050,000 from a $1 Lucky Day Lotto ticket.

She'd purchased three of them from a local 7-Eleven on October 2, the day she turned 68, notes UPI.

One was a 5-number match, securing her the big win.

Her plans for the cash include buying a new car, having some home remodeling work done, and making charitable donations.

When claiming the prize money, Swanson said, "I want to thank the Illinois Lottery for the best birthday gift ever."
