10 percent of Americans exposed to infected drinking water

It's not just Flint, Michigan.

According to Environmental Protection Agency data analyzed by FluksAqua, at least 10 percent of Americans have been exposed to high levels of contaminated drinking water.

The data shows there were at least 7,500 drinking water violations in the U.S. in 2015.

Some of the most affected states were Maryland with over 32 percent of people drinking potentially harmful tap water. Kentucky had over 26 percent and Texas was reported with over 16 percent.

The EPA found drinking water tainted with a potentially toxic mix of coliforms, nitrates, arsenic, radionuclides and disinfection byproducts.

But feel safe if you live in Washington State because less than 1 percent of people there were affected.

Other top-five cleanest water states are Colorado, Minnesota with its thousands of lakes, North Dakota and Delaware.
