Man sought for vicious attack that left woman with 'serious' head injury​

JAMAICA, Queens (WPIX) — A man is being sought for striking a 69-year-old woman in the head, causing her to fall to the ground and suffer a "serious" head injury, police said Tuesday.

Richard Springer, also known as "Kwasi," is considered a "known individual" to police, according to the NYPD.

Springer is accused of using a closed fist to hit the victim on the head, causing her to fall to the ground in front of 107-60 Sutphin Blvd. Saturday around 8:10 a.m., police said.

The violent incident occurred in front of several businesses, Google Maps shows.

The 69-year-old victim suffered a serious head injury, and was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

Police have released an image of Springer, whose last known residence is in Jamaica just blocks from Saturday's assault.

He is described as 28 years old, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds, with brown hair, black hair in corn rows, with a tattoo saying "Emily" on his right arm, and last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots.
