Playboy model Katie May's death linked to chiropractic work

Updated

A cause of death for Playboy model Katie May also known as the "Queen of Snapchat" has been determined.

According to TMZ, the L.A. County Coroner has indicated on May's death certificate that "she died when a blunt force injury tore her left vertebral artery, and cut off blood flow to her brain."

The media outlet also reports that the coroner, who ruled her death as an accident, attributed the injury to "neck manipulation by chiropractor."

This treatment has been linked to an injury she sustained during a photoshoot after which May reportedly complained of having a painful pinched nerve, notes the New York Daily News.

She is believed to have visited the chiropractor twice before suffering two strokes which resulted in brain death.

The 34-year-old died that week on February 4, 2016.

Her family has not yet commented on a possible lawsuit against the chiropractor.
