Police identify clown threat as 13-year-old boy

Police have identified a 13-year-old boy as a person posing clown threats across the city of Green Bay.

The weekend before, local schools were on alert after a threat to ten schools was posted to Facebook from what looked like a clown.

An investigating into the Facebook post, revealed the the author was a 13-year-old boy and the threat was nothing but a prank.

The post was shared hundreds of times, spreading panic around ten local schools. The police even increased their presence in these areas.

Police are continuing to investigate why the teen posted the message and he could now be facing criminal charges.

Police have encouraged parents to talk to their children about posting these types of messages on social media.
