Photo of mother leaving toddler in parking space goes viral

Finding parking in a busy area may be difficult, but one woman appears to have gone to extremes to secure a space.

According to the Daily Mail, a young boy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was told by his mother to remain in an empty spot until she could get her car and park there.

A photo circulating online shows the toddler sitting alone in the middle of the space amidst other parked cars.

A Facebook message about the incident appears to have been posted by a person named Wynn Tan who reportedly wrote that the boy waited in the heat for 20 minutes until his mother returned.

Bystanders allegedly approached him in the interim, concerned that he may be lost, but he was able to explain why he was there, notes the Mirror.

Many commenters on the page accuse the woman of putting her son in danger, with one person writing, "She should consider herself lucky that no one harassed, kidnapped or even hurt her child."
