Man caught fishing for drugs

We all know about the war on drugs. Police are hard on drug crime due to the immense negative effects substances can have on users and addicts.

Those that are addicted are not themselves and they'll do things they'll completely regret just to get their hands on more drugs.

In this particular case, a man went as far as to build a little fishing line contraption to try to scoop drugs out of a police drop box.

This happened out in California where the box was meant to be a safe way for people to dispose of drugs.

The Santa Barbara sheriff's office reports that recently an officer noticed a man trying to fish syringes and other drugs out of the box using a homemade fishing line.

The man was arrested on the spot and charged with possession of stolen property, petty theft, possession of burglary tools, prowling and possession of controlled substances.

The man surely wasn't fishing for jail time, but that's exactly what he got!
