Melania Trump is the epitome of sophistication in Chanel ensemble at Christmas tree lighting

Melania Trump is feeling the spirit this holiday season!

The first lady stepped out in another wowing look on Thursday night to light the national Christmas tree in Washington D.C. For the event, she chose a boulcé coat dress from French fashion house Chanel. The bold, red hue, which was the signature color of former FLOTUS Nancy Reagan, gave us major Christmas vibes.

She polished off her tailored and sophisticated ensemble with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin stilettos and jewelry, including her sparkling diamond engagement ring.

Melania got the honors of flipping the switch after the crowd counted down to light the massive Colorado Blue Spruce tree, covered almost entirely by thousands of lights.

“Today is a day that I've been looking very much forward to all year long,” President Trump said in a speech during the event. “It’s one that we've heard and we speak about and we dream about and now, as the president of the United States, it’s my tremendous honor to now wish America and the world a very Merry Christmas.”

Earlier this week, Melania stepped out with a group of young schoolchildren to debut the White House holiday decorations in an all-white Dior showstopper.

"She's beautiful like an angel!" one child said as the first lady, dressed in a gorgeous cream Dior dress with bell sleeves and a fluid skirt that hit below her knees, walked into the East Room to help a group of kids make a garland.

This year's theme of "Time-Honored Traditions" pays homage to the different traditions in American history, with each room representing a different one. However, some of the decor has sparked criticism. A photo of a hallway decorated with tall bundles of white twigs went viral due to its seemingly creepy aesthetic.
